Want to read email on your phone or in Outlook as well as webmail? Then set up IMAP on your devices. With IMAP, all emails are stored on the server and synchronised with every device you use.
That means an email you send through webmail also shows up in Outlook. A message you read on your phone is marked as read in webmail too. Everything stays in sync.
With POP3, emails are downloaded from the server and stored locally — synchronisation with webmail then no longer works properly.
